Southside

Adrienne & Angela Oliver :-)

Today was Black Renaissance day. Me and my sister started at the DuSable Museum in Chicago's South side. It is a beautiful museum. I loved the visiting exhibit by Fabiola Jean-Louis.

Beautiful exhibit at the DuSable Museum

She created some beautiful paintings of Black women. After being in the Louvre museum, where I didn't find any Black women on the walls, it was powerful to see.

After we left the museum, we continued on with the vegan restaurants tour, part of the informal & impromptu "taste of vegan Chicago" tour I've been on since I've been here. We end up at Original Soul Vegetarian. It was delicious!

The grand finale of the tour was a viewing of Gwendolyn Brook's house.
